Downtown Fun

Logan was able to take Friday the 27th off so we headed downtown. We decided to try out something different and went to the Postal Museum. For having not been there before we were impressed. We had fun looking around and playing with the interactive stuff.
After the museum we headed to China Town to Five Guys were we ate burgers and LOTS of fries. That was followed by walking to the Ellipse to see the National Tree and Pageant of Peace trees. We ended our day downtown with a short stop at the Museum of National History.  It was a warm day and a fun day to be downtown-especially seeing something different.

Happy Birthday Dad!

While mom and dad were here we celebrated Dad's 60th birthday. Logan worked during the day so we didn't do anything too exciting. For dinner we grilled out (yes it was warm enough) and then celebrated Dad's birthday with presents and Dairy Queen ice cream cake and blizzards.  Hopefully Dad enjoyed his day.

Christmas 2013

This year Logan and I spent Christmas here in Maryland. It was even better because Logan was actually off the 23rd-25th. On the 23rd and 24th we were some of the crazy people out shopping and  getting ready for mom and dad to come with some cleaning and cooking. Christmas Eve we went to the children's program at 7:00 so I could play bells. Then we headed to a little "party" at some church friends' house for an hour or so before heading back for the 11pm service so Logan could sing. Came home and crashed. Christmas Day we slept in, had breakfast and opened our presents to each other.  Later in the day we headed to the airport to pick up mom and dad. Returned home for a Christmas dinner of lasagna and opening more presents. Overall a very fun Christmas. Here are some pictures of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Navy Band Christmas Concert

On the 21st we headed downtown for the Navy Band Christmas Concert at DAR Constitution Hall. It's a great concert with lots of wonderful music and a fun Christmas carol sing-along.

Our Christmas Tree and decorations

Friday night while selling Christmas trees in the rain at church we picked out our tree. Sunday night we decorated it. It looks pretty cool. Saturday while Logan was at work I put up our stockings and things too. Now we just have to put presents underneath and wait for Christmas. Oh and some Christmas cookies we made today while Logan was off and I was home on an ice day. :)
