Halloween 2008

Happy Halloween from the Lenharts! It's hard to believe its already Halloween. I am very excited for my first Halloween in a house where we will hopefully have trick-or-treaters. We have our candy all ready and did some decorating. Last Sunday the weather was AWESOME! I wanted to be outside so I decided to rake leaves. Well, now that I live in town you have to bag those leaves which is a job I hate. So I decided to have some fun and create Holly the Halloween Spider. The rain and wind this week have not done her much good so she'll need fixing before tonight. But it was still fun. Then last night we carved our pumpkin. He's French and named Piere (not sure how Logan spells it). He's still on the kitchen table and will make is front "porch" debut tonight. So here are some pictures of Holly, Piere and us making them. I'll post more after tonight!

Last One!

All right you have now completed the tour of our house. It's nothing fancy, but we like it a lot. It's nice and cozy and really starting to become our home. We hope that people will have a chance to come out and see us and our new place. So here's one last picture that goes with the living room. Our front door has a big window on it and being a scaredy cat when I stay home at night, I wanted it covered. So here is the first of my holiday curtains I made. This one is the fall one.

Laundry Room

I have saved the most boring but my favorite room for last-- the laundry room!! It's pretty much a glorified closet but there's enough room to keep our cleaning stuff, vacuum, and all that good stuff. It is SO SO nice to be able to do laundry whenever we want-even when it rains and in the dark. :) And I found a use for the crazy Yaffas I've had since freshman year of college. Who woulda thought!

The Rec Room

And we're almost done with our house tour. Here is the rec room as Logan calls it. I think it's really suppose to be a dinning room but that isn't a need we have. Like the office we have grand ideas but haven't really pulled them off yet. Right now it's kind of just storage. Even so I thought I'd share. The big door leads to the backyard and the one with the hat hanging on it is the coat closet. Off to the side is our bedroom and the laundry room.

The Office

Here is our office. It's one of the rooms that we have great plans for but haven't accomplished them yet. It's also one of the rooms you are not seeing all of. There is one corner that is just too messy to been seen. Eventually we hope to have a new computer, another filing cabinet and a bigger bookshelf (that's just a matter of cleaning one out of the garage). But for now it works. It gives us a place to store things as well as another t.v. and a place for playing Play Station. It's decorated to be Logan's Michigan room. His pillows and blanet are out and he picked out black and yellow curtains to match- black for the futon and yellow for Michigan. Oh and there is enough room to use the futon so it's another place for people to sleep if they come visit. Please ignore the underlining. I have no idea what it's doing!

The Bathroom

Probably the one downfall of the house is it is 3 bedrooms but only one bathroom and it's on the opposite side of the house from our bedroom. All I have to say it thank goodness for night lights!

Kitchen

Here goes another room. Like I said house was clean had to take advantage. :) Here is the kitchen. Even though I'm not really much of a cook I have to admit I'm enjoying having the bigger kitchen and all the counter space. I've even started to do more cooking. Most weeks I cook real food almost every night and we eat it at the table. New thing for both of us.

Spare Bedroom

O.k. continuing on in no particular order is the spare room or as we say the boy's room since it is where Lucky and friends sleep. It's also an important room since if anyone comes to visit they will be sleeping in here in the Princess and the Pea bed. I assure you it is very comfy! Oh and as you can see this is the one room of the house where I was allowed to be girly and have pink. So the curtains are a cream lace with pink and blue flowers. And you'll see in one picture we even have the guest towels hanging up waiting for people to visit.

Our Bedroom

Well, I had Friday off so I decided to do some house cleaning. That means you will now get to see pictures of all the rooms. I'll do each room a separate post so it's easier. I tried to do all angles so hopefully you can get a good idea of what our place looks like. Now remember Logan and I are all about the "lived in look" even when it is clean. So with that in mind here goes! These are of our bedroom. It is probably one of the biggest rooms of the house. Which is good because we have lots of stuff. Thankfully there are two closets (mine is the one door one with all the shoes and his is the double doors) so we don't have to share. Big plus when you have lots of clothes and your husband has to wear suits and ties everyday! Oh and in case the colors don't come through the curtains are brown with a cream stripe and a cool ring type fancy top. The bedspread is brown, cream, light green and light blue to match our cream, green and blue sheets. What can I say we're good! :)

Backyard

House picture posting continues-- this time it's our backyard/patio that is clean so I thought I'd post pictures of that. It's a small area but we enjoy it. We bought the swing the 2nd day we lived there. The patio set we bought on a "garage sale" sometime last month. The gas grill was Logan's big want for the house. I came home one day and found it in pieces all over the patio. We managed to put it together and have cooked on it a number of times. Logan's new specialty is to grill out kabobs. It's great to have a place to be outside and we're hoping the weather stays nice for awhile yet so we can get more use out of it.

The Living Room

O.k. by request I'm finally posting some house pictures. These are of the living room complete with new furniture and curtains. We won't even go there with the adventure the curtains have been. In case you can't tell the furniture is a really dark navy/blackish and the curtains are a green stripe. It's probably easier to see if you click on them and enlarge them. Enjoy and the next room that is clean I'll post pictures of that. You can see a little of the kitchen in the one picture. Just ignore the junk on the table please! :)

Happy Birthday Logan!

Once again I'm a bit behind on posting. Sorry! Saturday was Logan's birthday. It was a pretty uneventful day, but I think he still enjoyed it. He finally got a Saturday to sleep in and watch college football. We put up curtains in our living room and went lawn mower shopping. Then we went out for dinner, opened presents and had birthday cake. So nothing too exciting, but he was off and we got to spend the day together so that is always a great thing in our book. So here are a few pictures of the "festivities." The cake definetly tastes better than it looks. Cake decorating is not my thing! Oh and he says thanks for the presents, cards and phone calls! And I promise next time our house is clean I'll take some pictures and post those.
