A trip to Indy

So two cute little girls and their mom invited me to come spend some time with them this summer. So I spent a Wed-Monday morning with Sarah, Kurt, and the girls. It was a great time. Swimming lessons, picnics, the zoo, PBS Kids in the park, celebrating my birthday, building vines/forts for the stuffed animal friends, and lots of just hanging out and playing. It was great to spend time with them and I look forward to when I can see them again. Though I had to promise next time I'd bring Uncle Logan. Wish they lived closer. Since most readers of my blog read Sarah's and she's already posted lots of details I'll just post some fun pictures of me with my cute nieces.

Part 5- Winery and relaxing

After we finished at the caverns we went to one of the many wineries in the area. While it wasn't as cool as the one we went to in Williamsburg it  was still fun. We tasted some wines and a wine slushy (amazing!) and then sat outside and enjoyed a glass of the most amazing sangria. Of course being us instead of ordering an expensive cheese plate from the winery we ate the goldfish crackers and m & m cookies we had in the car. What can I say- we do things our own way. :) Then we headed back to our hotel for some relaxing by the pool. We didn't feel like it was warm enough to get in but napping in the sunshine by the pool worked just fine. We enjoyed our Mexican food leftovers for dinner before ordering some awesome desserts from the hotel restaurant before bed. Since we didn't do much for my birthday we put candles on my dessert and I got to blow them out. Sunday morning we slept in and then headed home. Along the way we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel, and did some furniture shopping.  For a weekend trip not even 2 hours away I'd say it was lots of fun and nice to get away.

Part 4- Yellow Barn

The 3rd and final part of the caverns was The Yellow Barn. Basically it was kinda of a farm museum, gift shop and just random stuff. Probably the coolest thing was it had a bunch of squirrel stuff. Abigail would have loved it!

Part 3- American Celebration

The next part of the day was a big barn called American Celebration or as Logan heard it called "where floats go to die." Either way we thought it was cool. Its a huge barn filled with floats from Rose parades, Inaugural parades, Thanksgiving parades, --you get the idea. It was cool to see them close up and read where they  had been. Some you were able to climb on and a couple they even let you pretend to drive. It was crazy how little space for sitting and how little you can see. Good thing they drive so slow down the parade routes! Once again a TON of pictures. I had a hard time choosing so I'm showing many of the floats and when possible the signs.
