Update on outside

So as I posted awhile ago I posted pictures of the work we had been doing outside-planting grass, some flowers, raking, etc. Well, I'm happy to report that the grass looks awesome, the flowers have grown (until this last week of rain did them in), and I had some fun with spray paint to add some fun touches to "second patio" that we found "under" the bamboo. So here's I guess you could say the after pictures!

Spring Break Part 2

Our second part of spring break was spent in Iowa for Luke and Emily's wedding. It was a long weekend of hardly any sleep but a great time of hanging out with Logan's family. Logan was the best man and I was the self appointed assistant to the best man. Anotherwards I helped him do what he needed and attempted to keep him from freaking out about his speach. I'm happy to report the speach was AWESOME! So we had tons of fun and the wedding was beautiful. Here are a few pics. Yes they're mainly of Logan but what can I say-I'm married to the guy!

Spring break Part 1

This year for spring break (I told you I was behind) Logan and I did one of our whirlwind "how much can you cram in" trips to see family. We started in Nebraska with the little girls. They have gotten so big and are so cute! We had a great time being Uncle Logan and Aunt April. Here are a few pics from the park and hanging out at their house playing airplane and with their new toy Swampy the Alligator. Of course they already look very different but hey this is all I have!

Spring in D.C.

O.k. I am SOOOO behind in posting. So I'm going to go back a few and catch up. Over Palm Sunday weekend in April, the cherry blossooms were at peak. I had the chance to go down and see them with our new 5th grade teacher. Here are a few pics of the views. Very pretty!

Ford's Theater

Ever since we moved out here we said we would take advantage of all the things to do. Well, Sunday night we had the chance to go see the musical "Civil War" at Ford's Theater. I'd have to say it ranks up there with one of my favorite things we've done so far. The musical was awesome, our seats were GREAT (3rd row from the stage on the floor) and just the idea that you're sitting where Lincoln did still amazes me. Oh and getting dressed up and spending the evening with Logan was pretty nice too. :) I have to say as much as we miss living near our families we are getting to do some awesome things. So here are some pictures of us and the theater. Of course no pictures during the show-bummer!

Spring Yard Work

Now that Logan and I are living in a house we have the opportunity(or job depending on how we look at it that day) to do yard work. So far we are enjoying it because after living in apartments we love the chance to be outside when it's nice. Our favorite things are still our swing and grill. I think Logan would cook on it every night if he could. :) So far our big projects have been raking, planting grass seed in the back yard and working on the front flower beds. We cleaned out one and planted flowers in it. The other still needs some work. We also added some fun "edging" to give it curb appeal. What can I saw we've been watching way too much HGTV! So here's some pictures. Right now you can't see the flowers because of the cool edging but hopefully when they grow you'll be able to. At least we hope they'll grow. We've just had 3 days straight of rain so that should help a lot.

A OLD one

O.k. before you read what I is below in black- I want to say it was written on March 1 and 2 BUT I never put it up. I know it's late but I just had to post these because it was such an odd thing to have all the snow. And I know that Logan and I's families are still getting snow even now in April so hey why not! But as far as Logan and I go- no snow here just lots and lots of April showers!

Well, to all of you that I kept saying "oh we don't get snow" or "once we get through February we're good," I was SO wrong. As I'm sure many of you saw on the news we got dumped with a huge snow storm yesterday. We ended up with 5-7 inches depending on where you live. I know for the midwest that's nothing but for here it's the most snow we've had since Dec. 2007. Logan's in Iowa so I was staying with a friend and got snowed in there. That was fun since we got a snow day! Yeah! Now I'm just hoping for a delay tomorrow since I don't feel like getting up early. :) Here's some pics of our snow and my awesome shoveling job.
