Crab picking!

While Logan's parents were here we had some people over for crab picking on the deck. Was lots of fun and lots of good food. Here's a before, "during" and the after math. I think we're true Marylanders now that we've hosted our own crab picking dinner.

New Dishwasher!

When we moved in the other thing that was broken was the dishwasher. We decided to hold off on replacing it, but now thanks to the rest of the gift cards from Logan selling caskets, anniversary/house warming money, and a great Labor Day sale we bought a new dishwasher. Logan unhooked the old dishwasher and then he and his dad put in the new one. It's so awesome to not have to wash all the dishes anymore.

3rd Anniversary

Back in August (yes I know I'm behind but it's the school year!) we celebrated our 3rd anniversary. Hard to believe it's all ready been 3 years. They've been great. Thought it might be fun to share some of the adventures from the last 3 years. 2 trips to New Orleans (one with 12 high schoolers!), a honeymoon to Punta Cana, a blizzard which had us snowed in for days, an earthquake, hurricane, a back yard full of bamboo, April switching classes 3 times, Logan working LOTS of hours, trip to G &G's house in Minnesota, trips to visit our families in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Cincy, trips to boogie board in Ocean City, crab picking, lots of visitors, all the fun, craziness and sight-seeing of D.C.AND the biggy---July of 2011 we buy our first house!!!! I'd say not bad for 3 years! :) As I always have said. We miss our families, but love the adventures of being out on the East coast together. So here are a couple pics from our anniversary. We had to celebrate early because Logan worked nights and I had a meeting. We went our for dinner and enjoyed just chilling on the swing on the deck. Thanks for all the cards, e-mails, and gifts!

New Dryer!

Saturday was a very exciting day-we got a new dryer! Now Logan doesn't have to iron his work shirts anymore and laundry just goes so much faster. I have to admit I don't even mind it being downstairs. So not that it's all that exciting- here are two pics of the new dryer. And the best thing is we bought it with gift cards Logan got for selling caskets. Who would've know that was a perk of working in a funeral home?!

Some updated pics!

So we've been doing more work on the house with curtains and hanging pictures. Thought I'd share a few more.  The first two are the kitchen. In the kitchen there is a good sized window by the table which you can see into from the street. SO when Erin was here she helped me pick out some burgandyish material that matches the backsplash and we made curtains. Then on the "side" of the kitchen is a door and other window.  So I used the leftover material to make a matching curtain for the window and then had some fun with the door. You may remember from the old house I had a little curtain for every season/holiday. I couldn't give those up so I put blinds on the door with my every changing curtain as a valance. So far I like it.  We'll see how bad some of the other seasons clash! :)  The other pictures are of the living room now that it has pictures up and for the most part is completly set-up.  More pics of other rooms as they are clean and get set up!

Now for the real pics!

Ok now I can start putting up some of the house as it is getting unpacked. So we moved all our stuff in on Tuesday and then all of these were taken Friday morning before we went to the airport to pick up our very first house guests-Erin and Jeff. I'd say we did pretty well. :) Since these were taken we've unpacked more, added curtains, etc. but it's a start. Also we only took some of the rooms so there's more to go in the department too. So far we are loving the new house. It's great to not have to ask permission to do stuff and the amount of room is crazy! Logan is on nights this week so the shorter commute has already paid off. We'll continue to add pictures as we do work and the house is actually clean. As of right now I'm not putting up anymore outside pics until I'm able to get the blog passworded. So in the near future please let me know if you want me to add you as a reader once I password it (parents and sibblings I already know to add you!) ENJOY! Oh and we have lots of room for visitors so please come see it in person.
