Snow Storm Part 2

Let's see it snowed Friday and Saturday with a total of around 24 inches so we spent Sunday and Monday shoveling. Tuesday morning was a little break and we were able to meet some friends for a free breakfast at Denny's and some replenishing of supplies.  That was followed by a couple hours of shoveling the roof.  Then it started snowing again. And snowed until Wednesday night along with lots of wind. That gave us another 12 inches that we shoveled before bed. So at our house we're at 3 feet maybe a little more. Other places have even more than that.  It is crazy around here.  We have now broken a 100+ year record for the most snow in a winter season. AND we're suppose to get another 1-3 inches on Monday.  We are so sick of snow and have no desire to pick up a shovel again for a very long time. So here are some more pictures after part 2 of the blizzard.  I'm very much hoping that I will not be posting a part 3!!

These are some pictures of the planets my 4th graders paper mached for the science fair. They turned out so amazing. I'm so so proud of them.  We had a ton of fun making them and made a huge mess of course. Well worth it for the experience though.

The Blizzard of 2010

Well, you may be noticing a theme to my pics--SNOW!!! This is our 2nd big snowfall of the winter.  And that's not counting the little ones inbetween.  The offical Smokey Bear ruler measurement in our backyard is 24 inches.  Other places around the area had a little less and some had over 30 inches. It's just crazy! As you can see from the pictures the backyard looks like a war zone. As much as we aren't a fan of the bamboo we hope it springs back cuz we'd miss the privacy of it.  Thankfully Logan and I have both been off so we've been enjoying being snowed in together.  We've made bread, worked on our taxes, LOTS of shoveling, watching t.v. and took a walk up town.  So actually it's been kinda nice.  School has already been called for tomorrow and Logan is still off so we get another day.  All I know is it'll take awhile to dig everything out and we're suppose to get more on Tuesday. I think I've had quite enough!!  So here are some pictures of the snow.  We haven't really built anything because Friday night was good packing snow but the stuff on top isn't.  So all we've done is throw it at each other and tackle. Oh and I attempted a snow angel. It's just really hard to navigate when it's like thigh deep. Logan had to keep pulling me up! So enjoy and I promise I'll try to put something besides just snow up here on of these days!

It's SNOWING!!

It's offically winter in Maryland! From around 10 pm Friday night till about 10 pm Saturday we got about 18 inches of snow.  Depends on where you are and which drift you measure. It was crazy to watch it snow nonstop and then get up this morning to see how much was on the ground. I felt like I was back in Illinois! Despite having to shovel it, the snow is very pretty and it was fun to play in.  Logan's had to work so I've spent the last couple days shoveling, playing in, and getting ready for Christmas since I've been stuck at home.  And I even get to stay at home tomorrow. YAH!!! Too bad Logan doesn't get snowdays too! So here are some pictures from the one of the top 3 snow falls in Maryland history!
The ruler was Saturday early. And the shoveled pictures are my hard work today.

Happy Halloween from the Lenharts! Last night we went to early Halloween party that one of Logan's former co-workers had.  The cool thing is we got to dress up in costumes.  After much much and I mean much delibration we went as a Pirate and Pirate Beauty.  We had a great time.  Now tonight on actual Halloween Logan's working (creepy-Halloween in a funeral home!) and I'm passing out candy while grading papers.  We lead exciting lives what can I say. :)  Besides the party we did a little decorating at our house. We were lazy this year so we decided to paint a pumpkin instead of carving.  We kept with the pirate theme so now we have Perry the Pirate Pumpkin.  So here's some
pictures of us in our costumes, Perry and our outside decorations.

Meet Perry the Pirate!

A Trip Home

This last weekend we took a trip back to Illinois for my cousin's wedding. It's the first time we've been home since our wedding so it was long overdue. Sarah, Kurt and the girls were there too. We had a great time hanging out and playing with Abigail and Rebekah. They are the cutest little girls ever! Of course as Aunt and Uncle we're pretty partial. :) We even got to celebrate their birthday a little bit since we can't go visit on their real birthday. We missed Erin and Jeff, but are looking forward to all of us being home together at Christmas time.
